Is LuckyHills legit and safe?

Short answer: it's a real casino with a Curaçao licence, but it isn't regulated in Canada. Here's what that means in practice.

Checked October 2026

The licence

LuckyHills says it operates under a licence from the Curaçao gaming authority through Complete Technologies N.V. Curaçao licences are common for international casinos. They are generally seen as less demanding than regulators such as those in Ontario, the UK or Malta, particularly when it comes to player complaints and enforcement.

Check the licence yourself: the licence details in the casino footer should match a record on the Curaçao regulator's site.

Canada and Ontario

In Canada, gambling is regulated province by province. Ontario runs a licensed market through iGaming Ontario, and only registered operators may offer online casino games to players there. LuckyHills is not registered with iGaming Ontario, so this site does not recommend it to anyone located in Ontario.

In other provinces, the province's own site (for example a provincial lottery corporation's casino) is the regulated option. Offshore casinos like LuckyHills accept players from those provinces, but they aren't overseen by a Canadian regulator. Check the rules in your province before you play.

What you give up

At an offshore casino there's no provincial regulator to escalate a complaint to, and Canadian self-exclusion programs don't apply. Use the casino's own limits and self-exclusion tools.

Verification (KYC)

LuckyHills asks you to verify your email at sign-up and to submit identity documents. Withdrawal requests get a security review to confirm the account belongs to you. That's standard practice and a good sign. Do it early so your first payout isn't delayed.

Player protection tools

  • Deposit limits: daily, weekly or monthly
  • Loss limits and session time limits
  • Self-exclusion from your account settings

The casino also displays badges for SSL encryption, eCOGRA, GamCare and Gambling Therapy. Badges on a site are a claim, not proof; the licence is what matters.
